MapR Technologies, Inc., the provider of the open, enterprise-grade distribution for Apache Hadoop, today announced it will participate in the Hands-On-Lab Program at Storage Networking World (SNW) Fall ?12, taking place October 16 - 19 at the Hyatt Regency Silicon Valley/Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. Titled, ?Moving, Managing and Analyzing Big Data,? this hands-on lab will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the show.

What: This lab will enable participants to understand how Hadoop can be used to solve ?real-life? Big Data problems. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Map Reduce techniques and Hadoop technologies such as Pig and Hive. In addition, a live Hadoop cluster provisioned using Amazon?s Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) service will be utilized to load and process a sample data set. Through this sample data set, users will get a live demonstration of how different pieces within the Hadoop ecosystem come together to provide value to the business user.
