Hadoop-based digital marketing services to power nearly half of the Fortune 50 and the top 10 global ad agency networks
MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the top-ranked distribution for Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced that Kenshoo, the global leader in predictive marketing software, deployed the MapR Distribution including Hadoop in under a week into its large-scale predictive marketing system, which included integration with its RDBMS-based installations. As a result, Kenshoo optimized its data architecture and gained multiple benefits, including expanded services capabilities, increased performance, better reliability and cost savings. Conducting digital marketing campaigns in more than 190 countries, Kenshoo clients include CareerBuilder, Expedia, Facebook, KAYAK, Omnicom Media Group, Tesco, Travelocity, Walgreens, and Zappos.
With over hundreds of RDBMS servers, large queries from customers were pushing the boundaries of Kenshoo’s existing infrastructure, resulting in slow response times for heavy analytic requests. Multiple installations also made it difficult for Kenshoo to manage data flow from its clients to see how to optimize production server performance.
After evaluating other Hadoop distributions, Kenshoo selected MapR and deployed its Hadoop-based platform in days. Since deploying MapR, Kenshoo has experienced dramatic improvements in performance and greater reliability and availability of their data. Additionally, MapR helps Kenshoo aggregate data from many sources and benefit from operational efficiency. With the volumes feature unique to MapR, Kenshoo can create distinct logical partitions in Hadoop that enable separation of data from the different customer installations. This has helped Kenshoo manage imports so it can efficiently run a full import for each server and simultaneously run queries without interfering with other workloads.
