Matt Mills, previously MapR President and COO, is now Chief Executive Officer and Board Member. Mills is a seasoned industry veteran who brings a strong track record for leading high-growth organizations. He joined MapR after 20 years at Oracle, most recently leading the North American business while serving on the company’s executive committee.

Gene Frantz is a Partner of Google Capital. Before joining Google Capital, Gene was a partner at TPG Capital, a global private equity fund. During his 13 years at TPG, Gene was responsible for multiple technology and telecom investments and represented TPG on multiple public and private company boards of directors.
Prior to TPG Capital, Gene worked at Oracle Corporation leading its venture capital effort and previous to that in corporate development.
Gene holds a BS from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

John is MapR's Executive Chairman and Founder. He founded MapR in 2009 and served as the company's CEO until 2016.
Prior to founding MapR, John held executive positions in a number of enterprise software companies with a focus on data, storage and business intelligence at both private and public companies including: CEO of Calista Technologies (now Microsoft), CEO of Rainfinity (now EMC), SVP of Products and Marketing at Brio Technologies (BRYO) and General Manager at Compuware (CPWR).
Barry is a founder of Lightspeed and focuses primarily on investments in the areas of enterprise infrastructure, communications and networking, digital media, and internet. He has fourteen years of venture capital experience and ten years of operating experience. Prior to joining Lightspeed, Barry held executive roles in business development and general management at Cisco Systems from 1991-1997. While at Cisco, Barry established several of the company's largest distribution channels with OEMs, Telcos/Service Providers, system integrators and VARs.
Pete joined NEA in 2005, specializing in software, systems and technology-enabled services companies. Prior to joining NEA, Pete was Senior Director of Strategic Alliances at VMware where he struck the company's OEM deals and grew annual sales through OEMs from $0 to $40 million in four years. Prior to VMware, Pete was one of the first hires on the business side at Mirapoint, where he ran product management. Pete also served in various sales and marketing positions in Hewlett-Packard’s server division, including Worldwide Product Manager for the mid-range server business.
Mike brings more than 35 years of senior-level financial management experience with technology companies, including executive vice president, corporate resources and CFO at Sun Microsystems where he also served on the company’s Board of Directors.
