MapR ExpressLane

The MapR ExpressLane feature makes small jobs complete quickly, even if a cluster is busy. With other Hadoop distributions, when a developer or analyst submits a small job (e.g., a Hive query), and the map and reduce slots in the cluster are occupied; the job has to wait in the queue. With MapR's ExpressLane, small jobs are identified automatically, and the cluster immediately allocates the necessary resources to complete the job with minimum latency, making MapR a first-class solution for ad-hoc analytics.

The ExpressLane capability is included in both the MapR M3 and M5 Editions for Apache Hadoop.
