Data Placement Control

MapR’s data placement control gives you an entirely new dimension of control over your Hadoop cluster. MapR uniquely lets you specify where you want your data to be placed. Data requiring heavy processing could be directed to servers with multiple high performance cores. Applications with significant I/O requirements could have their data placed on high-speed media such as SSDs.

MapR's Data placement can be used to direct application data to specific locations, but also for advanced security, performance, or protection purposes.
