MapR Technologies Chief Application Architect Ted Dunning to Present at O’Reilly Strata Conference 2012 on the Use of Hadoop
San Francisco, CA – February 23, 2012 – MapR Technologies, Inc., the provider of the industry’s most advanced distribution for Apache Hadoop, announced today that Chief Application Architect Ted Dunning, will be a featured speaker at the O’Reilly Strata Conference: Making Data Work, taking place on February 28 – March 1, 2012 at the Santa Clara Conference Center, Santa Clara, CA. MapR will showcase its Hadoop distribution in Booth # 416.
The session entitled: “I Didn’t Know You Could do all that with Hadoop,” will be held on Wednesday, February 29 at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Dunning will show that while counter intuitive, as data size increases, simple algorithms perform better than complex models on small data. This can greatly simplify the deployment and development of Hadoop applications and the talk will include several examples of machine learning deployments across multiple industries. Mr. Dunning is also scheduled to conduct an “Office Hours” session on Wednesday, February 29 at 1:30 p.m. where he will discuss any Big Data or machine learning topic.
