MapR Expands Management Team
Former SVP of Informatica Joins MapR as VP of Engineering
San Jose, CA – November 15, 2012 – MapR Technologies, Inc., the Hadoop technology leader, announced today the appointment of Pinaki Mukerji to the position of vice president of engineering. Reporting directly to MapR Technologies’ CEO and Co-founder, John Schroeder, Mukerji will lead MapR’s engineering team and hold responsibility for all product development and delivery work for the multiple editions of MapR’s easy to use, reliable, high performance, enterprise-grade distribution for Hadoop.
Mukerji joins MapR from Informatica where he served as senior vice president of engineering. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in building Informatica into the industry leading data integration company with PowerCenter becoming the dominant and market leading product used by over 2400 companies. Mukerji rose through the ranks at Informatica from software engineer to most recently, senior vice president where he built and managed a large R&D team of 250 that spanned four geographies with annual revenues of $300M. Mukerji began his career at Intel and later was a senior member of the technical staff at Transarc before joining Informatica as principal software engineer.

Additionally, Dave Jespersen will bring his deep engineering experience to his new role of chief customer advocate. In this capacity, Jespersen will set out to enrich the customer experience by working with MapR’s rapidly growing customer base to develop and implement innovative solutions to the complex problems faced by every enterprise. He will also oversee pre and post sales, perform executive sponsorship of key business partnerships and continue to contribute to product direction.
