MapR Announces First High Availability Solution for Accumulo
Completes Accumulo and Hadoop Performance tests of MapR running on Cisco Unified Computing System
San Jose, CA – June 6, 2012 – MapR Technologies, Inc., the provider of the open, enterprise-grade distribution for Apache Hadoop, today announced that the integration and verification testing of Accumulo with the MapR Distribution for Apache Hadoop M5 Edition has been completed. MapR also announced the completion of rigorous performance and scaling testing of Accumulo and Hadoop running on the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).
Accumulo, originally developed by NSA and now an Apache project, is a distributed key value store with fine grain security control based on Google’s BigTable design. MapR provides Accumulo deployments with full High Availability, no single points of failure, automated and stateful failover, and rolling upgrades for high availability during routine hardware and software maintenance.

MapR also verified Accumulo running on the latest Cisco UCS hardware and verified significant performance advantages of Cisco UCS with the EMC Greenplum MR Edition of Hadoop.
